MASSIF AUDIO DESIGN

Massif Audio Design is a hifi/audio accessory business based out of South Western Ontario, Canada. We design and building beautiful high quality racks, stands and record weights.

Founded by woodworker and Toronto native Trevor Doyle, each fabricated piece is custom made, unique, and always teeming with character.  A student of both domestic and exotic hardwoods, Trevor got his start in the billiard business and amassed a resume of nearly 5000 pool tables. Building tables across Ontario and sometimes stateside he built many exotic wood tables  was determined to build things he actually liked.   Classically trained in carpentry and taught by many specialists, building fine furniture was a passion that he felt had to be pursued.  Every Massif  creation stems from the belief that the resonant frequencies  of hardwood will  improve upon man made materials and technologies.  

The shop specializes in figured black walnut, rosewoods, ebonies, maples and often delves into super exotic and rare woods.  Whenever possible the lumber used is FSC certified. Often some wood is acquired through estate sales, private collections, or simply decades old stock.

Through several years of testing and comparing its been discovered that many hardwoods are better suited to musical applications and vibration mitigation than others.  Trevor appreciates, respects and loves all hardwoods for their strength and beauty but also for the life they will  always bring to reproduced music.
The resulting products will always impress the audio cognoscente.
